Terence Raddeman
Senior Technician, Tucson AZ

In the early 1990s, Terence discovered that he was interested in computer programming and decided he wanted to learn more about it. “I was mostly self-taught and developed some basic programming, and then expanded from there,” he says.

His initiative set the tone for his ever-growing technical expertise, which expanded to include training in computer aided drafting (CAD) and geographic information software (GIS). He honed his design skills as he worked with a telecommunications company in Vancouver, Wash.

When the telecommunications company was purchased by a large media conglomerate, Terence joined KAI. He had been introduced to KAI several years before by an acquaintance, who encouraged him to pursue a career there.

Since he began working with KAI in 2003 – first in Portland and now in Tucson - Terence has worked on automating repetitive CAD commands. His CAD design skills include AutoCAD and Microstation, and Terence specializes in traffic and civil engineering design.

“I enjoy being able to develop tools that save time and stress, and make the design process more efficient,” he says.

Terence’s project portfolio includes traffic signals, street lighting, and signing and striping. In addition, the Tucson office collaborates on civil engineering design, allowing Terence to participate in roadway design projects.
