What Do We Do?

That's a pretty big question; Kittelson & Associates does many different things, encompassed by five overlapping categories. To better answer that question, we've put together a website that details many of the facets of our work. We hope that you'll learn more about what we work on, with who, and what we produce as a result.

We divide our work into five Market Service Areas. The following are small descriptions of our market service areas. Each have a link to a page with more detailed information on each service area and the specifics of the work we do in that service area.

We hope that this information will be of value to you. Thanks for reading.

Public Works

Public Works and Traffic Engineering: How does it relate?

As a transportation engineering firm, we often partner with public clients as they move from an initial concept through the design and construction of transportation facilities.

Public sector client needs range from providing a full spectrum of transportation consulting services, supplementing a short-term staffing requirement, or offering an outsider's viewpoint to elected officials and citizens. Our goal is to create and implement innovative, cost-effective solutions to urban and rural transportation issues. As transportation engineers, we aim to ensure the safe and efficient movement of people and goods from the local level through an international scale.

Transportation Planning

Transportation Planning and Engineering: How does it relate?

Transportation planning takes a long-term look at transportation facilities (generally streets, highways, and transit lines) and how they will operate in the future.

Planning allows for the creation of multi-modal, community-based transportation systems that improve quality of life for citizens. From long-range transportation plans to neighborhood traffic management, we combine transportation planning and traffic engineering to integrate solutions with community goals.

Whether urban, suburban, or rural transportation issues, analysis procedures and techniques are used to create cost-effective solutions to clients.
