2006 Construction Season

The 2006 construction season will mainly focus on the construction of the concrete paved South 6th Street/Washburn Way intersection between September 5, 2006 and October 15, 2006. The completion of this intersection includes the installation and complete operations of the new signal, as well as the on-site modifications in the southeast, southwest, and northwest quadrants of the intersection. To complete the construction of the intersection, South 6th Street will be temporarily closed at Washburn Way. Washburn Way will be open in both directions through the duration of the construction. All turning movements will occur at intersection of Washburn Way and Shasta Way and east-west traffic will be re-routed via Shasta Way and Avalon Street. Figure 2 illustrates the detour plan.
2006/2007 Winter Season
Work during the winter season (October 15, 2006 and April 15, 2007) will be limited to utility and other incidental work. No pavement reconstruction will be allowed during this timeframe.
2007 Construction Season
Work will include all the remainder of the pavement reconstruction not completed during the 2006 construction season.
