Miranda Barrus

Transportation Analyst

Miranda_barrus Miranda is a graduate from the Oregon Institute of Technology (Oregon Tech) with her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Civil Engineering. During her time at Oregon Tech, Miranda exposed herself to a variety of transportation facets including traffic impact analyses, transportation safety, traffic engineering, and geometric design of streets and highways. Through these facets, she has executed and analyzed traffic models with PTV VISSIM and Vistro. Miranda’s graduate project consisted of designing a wildlife overcrossing structure specific to a rural highway in Central Oregon. This project included research for an appropriate structure location, structural design, transportation safety considerations, and a final project cost estimate. Throughout her studies, Miranda also gained transportation engineering experience while on her internships with the Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT), OBEC Consulting Engineers (OBEC), and the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT). Some of the projects she worked on entailed ADA curb ramp inspection and design, flexible sidewalk research, pavement inspection for rehabilitation, preliminary project cost estimates, parking removal studies, and construction inspection for a shared use path, as well as different stages of highway bridges.
