Yuri’s passion for transportation emerged at a young age through his love of maps and road trips… in spite of having grown up in a county with only one traffic signal! Further fostered through his education and relationships with transportation professors at the University of Idaho (Go Vandals!), his passion turned into a career when he joined Kittelson in 2005. Since then, Yuri has participated in a variety of traffic engineering, roadway engineering, transportation planning and research projects throughout the United States. He has managed conceptual, preliminary, and final design projects involving urban streets, traffic signals, pedestrian and bicycle treatments, and roundabouts. Yuri has been described as a relational leader who strikes a good balance of humility and willfulness among his interdisciplinary project teams. Outside of the office, Yuri is working towards exploring every square inch of the Idaho backcountry and the state he’s called home for nearly 30 years.
