2030 Broward County Long-Range Transportation Plan Update
KAI served as the prime consultant to develop a multimodal LRTP for Broward County for 2030. This LRTP included eight transportation modes or components: transit, bicycles, pedestrians, highways, waterborne facilities, greenways, ITS, and freight/goods movement. An extensive series of public and agency outreach efforts were conducted to gain a consensus on a cost-feasible plan. Environmental justice principles were incorporated into these outreach efforts to ensure a representation of traditionally underrepresented groups. Travel needs for the year 2030 were determined. Revenues from an extensive number of public and private sources were projected to determine what portion of the transportation needs could be afforded. This analysis resulted in the cost-feasible plan that was adopted by the Broward County Metropolitan Planning Organization Board in December 2004.
