KAI completed a traffic impact study for a Wal-Mart Supercenter in Gibsonton, FL. Unique challenges addressed by the study included considerable projected background traffic in the site vicinity and the site's proximity to I-75. Cost estimates for off-site improvements were prepared as part of the traffic study. After the Wal-Mart Supercenter was approved, KAI designed a new traffic signal at Gibsonton Drive/New East Bay Road. Unique elements of the signal design included dual westbound left turns and interconnection with the signalized I-75 southbound ramp terminal.
