Government Hill Neighborhood Plan
The Government Hill neighborhood is the oldest in Anchorage, consisting of a unique blend of residential, commercial, industrial, institutional, federal government, and open space uses. The Municipality of Anchorage hired a team of consultants to develop a neighborhood master plan, guiding the preservation of the residential character and redevelopment of the commercial properties over the next 20-25 year period.
KAI's role on the consultant team was to provide guidance on multimodal transportation issues. KAI worked with the planning team to provide the framework for the basic “complete street” structure options and features to accommodate vehicle, transit, pedestrian, and bicycle circulation throughout the area, with and without the Knik Arm Crossing project.
