I-75 and SR 951 Interchange PD&E Study
KAI is preparing an Interchange Modification Report (IMR) and National Environmental Protection Act (NEPA) documentation for the Florida Department of Transportation's District 1. This interchange is located at I-75 and SR 951 in eastern Collier County. SR 951 serves Marco Island.
This study involves enhancing the I-75 interchange and the nearby SR 951 and SR 84 intersection. Design year traffic projections were prepared using a calibrated sub-area travel demand model and interchange and intersection design year link and turning movement volumes were developed. The viable engineering concepts were evaluated using SYNCHRO and Highway Capacity Manual (HCM) procedures for selection of the preferred alternative. This detailed analysis with supporting documentation was presented in the Project Traffic Report (PTR).
As part of preparing the IMR, CORSIM microsimulation analysis was conducted using design year volumes for the three viable alternatives. The IMR is currently being reviewed by FHWA.
