Juneau Cruise Ship Uplands Operations

KAI assisted PN&D Engineers and the City and Borough of Juneau in conducting a transportation study of the uplands area, around the City’s cruise ship berths, which were being upgraded to accommodate larger (Panamax-sized) cruise ships. KAI documented existing operations of the facilities, including bus and pedestrian circulation patterns around the cruise ship docks and along Franklin Street, which runs parallel to the docks. KAI estimated changes in pedestrian activity, resulting from the planned implementation of the larger cruise ship berths and identified improvements to bus and pedestrian facilities.
