OR 99W at Hall Boulevard & OR 99W at Greenburg Road Improvements
KAI provided traffic studies and design services to the improvement of the Hall Boulevard/Highway 99W and the SW Greenburg Road/Main Street/Highway 99W intersections in Tigard, Oregon. This project, led jointly by the City of Tigard and Washington County, involved adding turn lanes on both Greenburg Road and Hall Boulevard, and a northeast-bound through lane on OR 99W from the railroad bridge to the Highway 217 ramps.
KAI prepared the traffic studies of existing and future conditions that identified and prioritized the recommended capacity improvements. We then developed conceptual improvement layouts, and developed preliminary design plans for traffic signal, signing, striping, and illumination. Additionally, KAI assisted in developing adjacent parking lot designs, developing a conceptual access management plan, agency coordination, and facilitating public involvement.
The firm also provided construction services support to address questions and changes requested by various agencies during construction. Completed in 2011, the project has substantially improved traffic flow and reduced delays these two intersections.
