Railyards Track Relocation and Intermodal Project Traffic Impact Analysis

KAI evaluated the effects on the transportation and circulation system resulting from vehicle trips associated with the Sacramento Intermodal Transportation Facility project. The project, located within the Central Business District of Sacramento's downtown area, was intended to realign existing mainline rail tracks, improve the existing Sacramento Valley Station, and transform the station into a multimodal transportation center. KAI staff evaluated roadway, transit, pedestrian and bicycle systems leading to the intermodal facility using City standards of significance to identify project impacts, and developed mitigation measures to alleviate impacts to potentially significant impacts to pedestrian mobility.
