SJCOG Interregional Multimodal Commute Trip Planning Study
KAI prepared alternatives for an interregional multimodal commute trip planning system within the San Joaquin, Stanislaus, and Merced counties region. The focus of the study was on regional and interregional commute trips, an area where SJCOG has a direct role serving the counties through its Commute Connection program. The goal of the system was to provide commuters and employers with tools that would reduce reliance on single occupant vehicles for commuters. The system needed to utilize transit trip planning that incorporated 18 local transit providers, carpool services, and had the ability to integrate with similar systems in the Bay Area, Sacramento, and Fresno regions. The result of this study was a selected preferred alternative with a phased implementation plan and funding strategy.
