Towson University Master Plan
KAI, as a subconsultant to Ayers/Saint/Gross, prepared an update to the parking and transportation element of the Towson University Master Plan. Specifically, KAI reviewed current roadway conditions and intersection levels of service; parking demand by user type, lot, and location; existing transit service and ridership; pedestrian and bicycle paths; and Transportation Demand Management measures that the university has recently implemented. KAI developed future forecasts for parking and traffic demand through the build out year for the Master Plan, and developed multiple scenarios of strategies that can be applied to address future demand. The strategies included both physical improvements for all modes and policy/program actions, along with a benefit/cost analysis. A recommended set of strategies was developed through working sessions with the University.
