US 26 at Glencoe Road Interchange

The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) is currently leading an interchange improvement project to modernize the Sunset Highway (US26)/Glencoe Road interchange in North Plains, Oregon. This project will increase capacity and improve safety and mobility for all travel modes. Key aspects of this project include meeting the needs of both existing and future land uses; improving pedestrian and bicycle connectivity; accommodating freight mobility and vertical clearance issues; implementing access management strategies; and minimizing property and construction impacts. KAI prepared the interchange area management plan (IAMP) that set the foundation for future improvements, and developed traffic design plans for the traffic signals, signing, striping, illumination, interconnect, traffic control, and temporary traffic signals. The traffic signal design component consisted of replacing the existing span wire signals with new mast arm equipment. KAI is currently providing construction support for all traffic design elements.
