Integrated Transportation Modeling and Simulation
Kittelson & Associates, Inc. (KAI) applies state-of-the-practice techniques and technology in the area of integrated modeling including regional travel demand modeling, mesoscopic dynamic traffic assignment, microscopic simulation, and greenhouse gas emissions modeling. KAI understands that good modeling and traffic analysis begins with a solid understanding of the needs of project and utilizing the most cost effective and appropriate tools available. KAI staff understands the steps, strengths, limitations, inputs and outputs, and direct import/export capabilities of transportation simulation models to maximize the effectiveness of these complex tools. Our wealth of staff experience allows KAI to apply the right simulation modeling tool at the right level resulting in time savings and reduced costs.
Key members of our staff have extensive, hands on software experience, applying many of these models to projects for both public and private clients internationally.
KAI staff are proficient in the use of modeling analysis tools such as Cube, TransCAD, EMME, and VISUM, Dynus-T, DynaMEQ, CORSIM, SIMTRAFFIC, Paramics, and VISSIM. KAI has authored national guidebooks, including the Traffic Analysis Toolbox Volume III: Guidelines for Applying Traffic Microsimulation Software, and Effective Integration of Analysis, Modeling, and Simulation (AMS) Tools for the Federal Highway Administration.
