Kittelson is seeking a full-time junior proposal coordinator to support proposal and marketing activities in our Northeast/Mid-Atlantic region, working with a team of dynamic transportation professionals. This is an opportunity to join a group of thought leaders and entrepreneurs at a growing, values-driven transportation planning and engineering consulting firm.

Position Summary

The ideal candidate has strong organizational, communication, and time management capabilities; works effectively with a variety of people; continually seeks to improve processes; is detailed oriented; and thrives in a non-structured environment. The position will be based in one of our Northeast Region offices: Baltimore, Maryland; Boston, Massachusetts; Reston, Virginia; Washington, DC; or Wilmington, North Carolina.

The candidate will support a variety of business development and marketing activities. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Creating checklists, outlines, and draft content related  to proposal development
  • Coordinating with internal and external staff on the development of proposals
  • Using applications such as Microsoft Word and Adobe InDesign to format and produce proposals
  • Ensuring schedules are met for proposal and marketing deliverables
  • Maintaining our database (Deltek Vision) for staff resumes, projects, and text libraries
  • Creating and updating text library content for proposals and marketing materials
  • Conducting research activities to support staff in the identification of advanced leads and projects


Required Qualifications

  • Strong writing, editing, and communication capabilities
  • Works well in a high-pressure environment; meets deadlines
  • Self-motivated and assertive
  • Capable of handling multiple projects concurrently
  • Interacts effectively with individuals at all levels
  • Working knowledge of Adobe InDesign
  • Attention to detail

Preferred Additional Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years of similar and relevant experience
  • College degree preferred, in a field commensurate with the position (e.g., English, Communications, Marketing)
