Peter Casellini

Senior Planner (he/him)

Peter is an experienced transit planner interested in developing balanced transit networks that work beyond the commute to serve the widest variety of travel needs, advance mobility for people of all abilities, and support strong communities.

Peter has significant public agency experience having served as MTS’s lead planner for central San Diego, with projects ranging from spot improvements and bus stop configurations to facility designs, network redesigns, and ballot measure planning. He also brings previous experience developing comprehensive transit plans and corridor analyses for agencies across North America. Peter believes strongly in incorporating meaningful public engagement into the planning process, breaking down communication barriers, and building consensus, and is equally at home advancing industry best practices and helping partners to innovate and think outside of the box.

Off the clock, Peter is a drummer for several San Diego music projects and is a rescue volunteer with the San Diego County Search & Rescue team. Originally an Upstate New York native, he now calls the North Park neighborhood of San Diego home, alongside his wife and Jack Russell Terrier.
