William Weismantel, Kittelson & Associates

Will is an Associate Engineer with over 16 years of roadway design experience specializing in roundabouts and multimodal transportation. He applies his knowledge to Vision Zero initiatives and to developing municipal complete streets manuals. Will’s areas of expertise include ADA-compliant accessibility, progressive bicycle compatibility design, transit facility design, complete streets, and innovative intersection design. His design experience includes traffic calming and road diet strategies, roundabouts and other innovative intersection treatments, intersection bulb-outs, protected intersections, raised intersections, raised crosswalks, and signalized intersections. Will is skilled at project management; developing roadway plans; designing temporary traffic control, signing, and pavement marking plans; coordinating between stakeholders; and facilitating public involvement. He has designed projects for the cities of Harrisburg and Lancaster; PennDOT Districts 5-0 and 8-0 in Pennsylvania; Montgomery, Calvert, and Howard counties; the cities of Baltimore, Takoma Park, and Rockville; MDOT SHA, MDTA, and MTA in Maryland; DDOT and MWCOG in Washington DC; and DelDOT in Delaware. In his free time, Will likes to mountain bike, camp and ski.
