Bita Etaati

Transportation Analyst

Bita explores the intersection between technology and transportation, delving into how data can drive meaningful changes in the ways that people navigate urban spaces. She holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering and a master’s in big data analytics. Her journey into transportation began when she joined a research lab studying barriers to active transportation during her master’s program. There, she discovered a deep interest in building safer, more inclusive, and more efficient mobility systems. Her work focuses on applying data analytics and machine learning to active transportation and safety, as well as developing visualization tools that support smarter, more people-centered transportation planning. She’s especially interested in the concept of Complete Streets and enjoys contributing to efforts that make cities more walkable, bikeable, and connected. Outside of work, Bita enjoys learning new languages, learning more about different cultures, and traveling. She is currently on a mission to beat her dad (at least once) in backgammon.
