Bob Townsend
Principal Engineer

Having worked for the Oregon Department of Transportation for 25 years, Bob is a dedicated public servant. Bob spent a majority of his time at ODOT as a Construction Project Manager, then as an Area Manager overseeing project development and construction. Now, he acts as the Transit Director for Cascades East Transit in Central Oregon, while also working as part-time at Kittelson. Bob’s focus at Kittelson covers design review, department of transportation-related administration, constructability, project management, and transit work. Bob is passionate about serving the broader community and finding the right solution for every transportation project.
Bob holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Oregon Tech, as well as a PE License and an Oregon Project Management Certification. At Oregon Tech, he was an accomplished member of the basketball team and met his wife, Trudy. They have two wonderful boys, Wyatt and Quincy. On their ranch outside Maupin, Oregon, Bob and Trudy love spending time with their cows and bees and performing a variety of ranch work. Bob is also heavily involved with coaching, having been a high school varsity basketball coach and youth coach for the last 20 years.
