Daniel Slick

Dan has 32 years in commercial vehicle enforcement, in which he worked as a Law Enforcement Officer with Wisconsin State Patrol. During his career, Dan served as a compliance review investigator of motor carriers, often conducting crash scene inspections looking for equipment defects, driver compliance, and reviewing carrier policies. Dan has over 8,000 roadside inspections under his belt.

During Dan’s time with the State Patrol, he also developed and instructed the Wisconsin State Law-Motor Carrier Enforcement course and spent 25 years as a Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) Nation Training Center (NTC) Associate Staff instructor, with 9 additional years as a Master instructor. As a Master Instructor, Dan evaluated both new and veteran instructors to ensure they were instructing as intended.

Some awards and recognitions Dan has received over the years include the 2004 North American Inspectors Championship (NAIC) First Place NAS Level 1 Driver/Vehicle Inspection, 2008 NAIC Grand Champion and First Place hazardous materials/transportation of dangerous goods, and 2019 WISDOT Division of State Patrol Superintendent’s Commendation.
