Gracie Gumm

Transportation Analyst (she/her)

Gracie Gumm is an eighth-generation Nashvillian with a passion for transportation safety and innovation. She earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Vanderbilt University, where she contributed to numerous research publications on autonomous vehicle deployment and traffic behavior. She focused her research on a large-scale field experiment that deployed 100 AI-equipped vehicles with custom adaptive cruise control algorithms on I-24 in Nashville. After graduating from Vanderbilt, Gracie completed her master’s degree in civil engineering at the University of Texas at Austin. Her thesis, “A Comprehensive Assessment of Discretionary Surface Transportation Programs under the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act,” analyzed national funding distribution patterns and state-wide application efforts. While at UT Austin, she authored a range of papers for the Texas Department of Transportation about emerging transportation technologies, federal grant program performance, and the role of remote operations in transportation systems. Gracie’s professional experience spans both the public and private sectors, involving mobility data science, transportation innovation, and roadway safety. Outside of work, Gracie enjoys traveling and cheering on the Vanderbilt Commodores and the Tennessee Titans!
