Marshall Elizer Jr.

Nationally recognized as a leader in the transportation profession, Marshall has worked for local, regional, and state public agencies, as well as in consulting. He has a passion for creating solutions to complex problems across all areas of transportation, with a focus on integrating multimodal and context-sensitive planning, design, and operations. His areas of expertise span transportation policy and planning, multimodal system management and operations, safety, and integrated multimodal geometric design. He has led or contributed to many key industry guidance documents, including AASHTO’s Policy on Geometric Design of Highways and Streets, ITE’s Urban Street Geometric Design Handbook, ITE/CNU’s Designing Walkable Urban Thoroughfares – A Context-Sensitive Approach, and several foundational NCHRP research projects. Marshall has also made significant contributions to AASHTO, the National Complete Streets Coalition, the Institute of Transportation Engineers, the Association of Pedestrian and Bicycle Professionals, the Intelligent Transportation Society of America, and the American Public Works Association. Outside the office, Marshall is an occasional mediocre golfer, hiker, and avid international traveler who enjoys seeing and experiencing as much of the world, its cultures, and its foods as he can.
