Niklas Roethig
Transportation Analyst (he/him)
Niklas is enthusiastic about improving people’s daily lives and believes that transportation is his avenue to do so, particularly enhancing traffic design, public safety, and public transportation. He earned a BS in Chemistry from the University of Oregon, as well as a BS in Civil Engineering from Portland State University. Niklas’s first step in his transportation engineering journey was with the Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT). During his internship at PBOT, he worked with the signals and streetlight group on signal timing, ped/bike safety, illumination, and transit signal priority. Outside of work, Niklas enjoys staying connected to his background in chemistry by diving into the world of friendly bacteria, whether that’s brewing his own kombucha or baking homemade bread. He also likes a good session of bar trivia, watching his favorite teams win (but mostly lose), and playing board games with friends.
