Nora Brown

Nora is passionate about the ways transportation systems influence public health and human connection. Drawing on a background in community organizing, she loves combining public engagement with technical analysis on projects like safety action plans and bicycle and pedestrian planning. Nora earned a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Carleton College and a master’s in urban and regional planning from Virginia Tech, where she concentrated in transportation policy and planning. Her graduate research, in partnership with the National Park Service, focused on siting locations for bicycle and pedestrian counters along trails in the Washington, DC area. While in graduate school, Nora interned at a nonprofit, supporting federal transportation policy research and Complete Streets advocacy. Outside of work, Nora loves running, biking, baking sourdough, and spending time outdoors.
