Renan Favero
Transportation Analyst
Renan has a strong international background and expertise in transportation engineering, traffic operations, and data-driven analysis. He earned his Ph.D. in transportation engineering from the University of Florida, where he contributed to federal research initiatives and worked with the McTrans Center to support the development, testing, and validation of the Highway Capacity Software and Highway Safety Software. Renan also holds a master’s degree in traffic operations and planning from the University of São Paulo. He employs machine learning, statistical modeling, GIS, and Python automation to generate insights that support planning and policy decisions. He has contributed to multiple Florida Department of Transportation projects, including before–after safety evaluations, equity analyses, and tests of emerging mobility technologies. He has experience with traffic engineering and planning tools such as PTV Vissim, Aimsun, Visum, Synchro, CORSIM, ArcGIS, along with methodologies like Intersection Control Evaluations. Outside of work, Renan enjoys playing volleyball, cooking, and exploring new places around the world. He speaks Portuguese, Italian, and English and is currently learning French and Spanish.
