Ryan Herster

Originally from the Detroit area, Ryan received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil and structural engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. During college, he found a passion for transportation infrastructure that makes communities safer and more sustainable for all users. He previously interned with a structural engineering firm in a role focused on renovation and addition projects, so he sees the potential for adaptation instead of always starting from scratch. He also interned with a contractor local to southeast Michigan, gaining experience in the construction process, solving problems that arose in the field, and understanding the perspective of the contractors working on a project. Outside of work, you can find Ryan doing anything outdoors, listening to music, playing his saxophone, trying a new recipe or cooking an old favorite, or reading a good book.
