Kittelson’s Sustainability Initiative, known as the “Green Team,” is an internal task force working to reduce our carbon footprint and share sustainable practices within our firm as well as with our peers. Just as we proudly contribute to the communities we live and work in, we seek to have a net positive contribution to our environment. Here are a few ways we are doing that.

Offsetting Flights

We offset all work-related flights by purchasing carbon credits to fund renewable energy, energy efficiency, and reforestation projects worldwide.

Promoting Active Commuting

We encourage non-auto commutes by reimbursing staff for bicycling expenses and offering a pre-tax transit pass program. We also hold a bike challenge twice a year, encouraging those commuting to the office to walk or bike instead of drive, when possible.

Firmwide Communication

The Green Team’s quarterly newsletter, “Air We There Yet?”, provides an update on firmwide travel trends and tips for sustainable workplace habits (at home and in the office). They also partner with internal working groups like the Innovation Kitchen to explore ways in which our project work can promote a sustainable and resilient future.
