Location: Reston
We are seeking a senior transportation engineer who has a people-first mindset, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a desire to make a positive impact on our organization and our communities.
Overview
This role is about leading complex and innovative transportation engineering projects while building client relationships that contribute to bringing work to the firm. Consistency, collaboration, and a keen focus on providing meaningful mentorship to others are all critical success factors.
Technical Focus
- Experience with complex projects that include multimodal traffic operational analyses, system and corridor level analyses, safety work, conceptual design, development services, and/or other related technical areas.
- Development and implementation of project work plans from inception of approach through completion of final reports and presentations.
- Hands-on experience in software related to their area of expertise within the profession.
Core Responsibilities
- Technical proficiency in traffic operations, transportation engineering, traffic design, and experience with planning-level projects.
- Provide technical direction to others for complex projects/tasks.
- Develop sound and informed scopes, budgets, and schedules for proposals.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients/teaming partners/industry professionals.
- Contribute to and develop new work opportunities
- Deliver meaningful feedback and mentorship for career growth.
Qualifications
- 10-20 years of experience related to technical focus areas referenced above.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field required.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license (or TE) in the state where you will primarily deliver work.
- Clear passion for transportation and experience as a consultant.

The range for this position is $120,000-160,000, which is a combination of your base salary plus an employer-funded 401K retirement contribution. Position in this range is determined by candidate’s experience and office location.
