Location: Raleigh

We are seeking a senior transportation planner with a focus on multimodal projects and who has a people-first mindset, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a desire to make a positive impact on our organization and our communities.

Overview

This role is about leading complex and innovative multi-modal transportation planning and engineering projects while building client relationships that contribute to bringing work to the firm. Consistency, collaboration, and a keen focus on providing meaningful mentorship to others are all critical success factors.

Technical Focus

  • Multimodal transportation planning experience and preparation of planning documents such as transportation system plans, active transportation plans, transit plans, freight plans, travel demand management, concept design plans, climate action plans, safety plans, and technology planning.
  • Development and implementation of project work plans from inception of approach through completion of final reports and presentations.
  • Managing multiple projects simultaneously and multi-disciplinary teams with various topics and complexity levels.

Core Responsibilities

  • Technical proficiency in multi-modal transportation planning and engineering projects.
  • Provide technical direction to others for complex projects/tasks.
  • Develop sound and informed scopes, budgets, and schedules for proposals.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients/teaming partners/industry professionals.
  • Contribute to and develop new work opportunities
  • Deliver meaningful feedback and mentorship for career growth.

Qualifications

  • 8-16 years of experience related to technical focus areas referenced above.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (planning, engineering, or similar).
  • AICP preferred.
  • Clear passion for transportation and experience as a consultant.

Compensation and Benefits

The range for this position is $115,000-150,000, which is a combination of your base salary plus an employer-funded 401K retirement contribution. Position in this range is determined by candidate’s experience and office location.
