Nikhil Menon, PhD
Senior Engineering Associate
Nikhil brings over a decade of experience in transportation engineering, planning, and applied research, with a focus on how people make travel decisions and how those decisions shape system performance. His expertise spans travel behavior, behavioral safety, emerging technologies, and freight. At Kittelson, he leads and contributes to federal-, state-, and regionally-funded efforts that utilize evaluation frameworks and quantitative/mixed methods to develop practical guidance and decision-support tools. He has authored over 50 publications and is active in business development, building partnerships across academia, industry, and government.
Nikhil is also engaged in service through the Transportation Research Board (TRB) as a member of the Committee on Women and Families (AQC11) and through the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Transportation & Development Institute. Prior to joining Kittelson, he spent over a decade in academic research and teaching roles. Outside of work, he enjoys traveling, cooking, spending time with his wife and their dog, following the happenings in the world of U.S. higher education and English football, and supporting (and agonizing over) Manchester United.
