Riva received a BA in history from the University of South Florida and an MS in urban and regional planning from the University of Central Florida. Her undergraduate thesis focused on the housing and transportation boom that occurred after World War II, and this academic interest initiated her desire to become a practitioner of the built environment. Riva was introduced to transportation topics as a graduate student, where she participated in corridor studies, urban design projects, bicycle/pedestrian safety analysis, and growth management. Her project experience includes bicycle/pedestrian facility analysis, transportation research, and data analysis. Outside of the office, you’ll find Riva exploring different cities with her partner and, during the fall, she is most likely in Tampa cheering for her undergraduate alma mater, USF.
